Hello! I’m so glad you are here. Let me tell you a little about me.

I am Leanne DeKay. I am a kindergarten teacher in the Sandhills of Nebraska. What a joy it is to live in such a beautiful place. It is not just the hills that are beautiful, it’s also the people. I am surrounded by hard-working, down-to-earth, do-anything-for-anyone kind of people.

Also what a joy it is to spend my days with young people. If you have spent much time with 5 and 6 year olds, you know they are full of life and love. They have all the curiosity and eagerness to make each day of learning an adventure. 

I am blessed.

Aside from being a teacher, I am a rancher’s daughter and a proud aunt. I spend most of my summers helping with my family’s ranch and visiting my nephews and now my baby niece. Whether it’s driving toy tractors, building towers, or reading them stories, my nephews, 4 and 2, know how to keep me busy. 

One final piece of information about me is that I love to write. Hence, “Loving the Lesson.” I am so glad you are here to love the lessons along with me!
